Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector (Combination to Oily Skin) | elliewoods

As many may be well aware that bb creams are a hot topic right now, they are everywhere!
Many cosmetic brands ranging from drugstore to high end brands are delving in and coming up with new and improved formulas each claiming a new miracle which is said to hide blemishes and even out mismatched skin tones.

I have tried quite a few bb creams ranging from ysl to maybelline and I have used Garnier’s makeup removers for quite a few years now. However I have never dulved into there moisturisers let alone their bb creams, especially after hearing that their first bb cream fell short of many beauty gurus expectations. However after the launch of their new and improved formula and some positive reviews, I thought why not give it a shot. So I made a trip to a local chemist and picked up this beauty.

The downside to this bb cream would be the shade selection, there is only three shade options in the combination/oily range and that is a light shade, a medium shade and a medium dark shade. The shade that I picked up was the light shade as the medium I found to be quite dark and more on the orange side.

The texture of this bb cream is quite a watery one, despite this it still produces quite a nice and even amount of coverage and blends remarkably well with either a brush, sponge or fingers. Depending on the coverage you are looking for, one layer will even out the skin tone and cover any unwanted dark circles and some redness (I found this to be the perfect amount of coverage for me) However if you do have some blemishes that you want covered, you can easily go in with a second layer and concealer the remaining redness, without giving off a cakey look. Whilst saying this I find that it is just as easy to go in with concealer than adding a second layer.

This bb cream claims to be oil controlling and have matte finish. As I have combination skin, I thought why not try this out without a primer and see how it fairs throughout the day and i was not disappointed at all!
I put this on at around 10:30am  and found that throughout the day I didn’t have to touch this up in the slightest, I found that I didn’t have to go and reach for my mattifying powder at all! At 8:30pm when taking off my makeup I found that it had only a slight shine to it but nothing that would need touching up.
Overall I am very impressed with this bb cream and would definitely recommend this to anyone with combination skin.

Beanie Collection | elliewoods

It has been a fair while now since I have posted here, which is quite annoying as I stated that I wanted to try and get a blog post up at least once a week. But of course life always seems to find a way to get in the way.

Any who, as I am quite unorganised and wanted to get a blog post up this week I thought I would share with you the video that I just set live today. It was a video that I filmed a couple of weeks ago but somehow went missing on my computer. I rediscovered it the other day and thought, why not put it up :)

Hope you enjoy!

OOPS | elliewoods

Turns out I never got round to doing a post last week and of course I lay blame to exams and having two in the one week, fortunately I have just over a week until my last exam, which I am not particularly looking forward to in the slightest.

So as I have been quite slack and such I had nothing really prepared for todays blog post so here is my previous videos that have been uploaded the past couple of weeks :)

Exam Thoughts | elliewoods

As it would seem, I was quite lazy last week, with the wrapping up of university classes and tests for the week, I seemed to neglect this lovely little space. So I do apologise for that and I would also like to do the same thing for the month ahead. This is because as classes have wrapped up, I now have exams...which I am kinda looking forward to..(I know thats a bit weird)

As many kids, in my younger years I absolutely hated Tests or Exams of any kind. Yet for some reason unbeknown to me, I get a thrill know out of the thought of completing a exam. However once I am in the exam room, I of course freak out and don't know 1) why I am doing this particular exam, 2) any of the questions and 3) why I am actually doing the course in the first place. This always leads me to finishing the exam and walking out thinking that I have completely failed the class and believing that I now have to drop out of my degree.

However this is always not the case when I get back my exam and realised I actually did semi decent. So that is just a bit of in-site into my brain and what goes on in my head before an exam.

I'm not to sure why I decided to write about this, it kinda just happened and things started to flow, so I just went with it.

Next weeks blog post will of course go back to more usual things and that and yer I guess it's time to wrap this up!

bye!

April Favourites | elliewoods

April Favourites is up!
Finally my internet has decided to return to me and work as faster as ever, which is quite convenient for myself. Due to the fact that I have a pile of work to do and need to finish :|

However as it has only just returned I have not really been organised with what I was going to write this week, so I thought I would do what I usually tend to do in these circumstances and link you to my new video that went live yesterday! :D

Internet Problems :| | elliewoods

This past week or so I have been having some seriously slow and ridiculous internet. This is because it is coming to the end of the internet month so it will be up and going in a few days time. Also the weather hasn't been helping one bit (so much rain..but I'm not complaining :P)

So as I do not wish to deal with this slow internet until it is up and running, as there was no Wednesday video because of these problems, here is Sunday's video!

Top 5 Drugstore Lipstick | elliewoods

For today's post I thought I would let you guys know my favourite Drugstore Lipsticks!
(L'oreal Project Runway, Rimmel Kate Moss, Revlon Colourburst, Australis Color inject, Maybelline Colorsensational)

Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish and Lasting Matte Finish
The best drugstore lipstick, so great in fact that I believe it could be considered a high end lipstick. So I have purchased nearly every colour from this range, if that doesn’t show how good it is then I don’t know what will. There is a shade for everyone in this range, going from the lightest nude to purple. There tends to be a tiny bit of transfer after eating, but the color on the lips does not budge in the slightest

Revlon Colourburst
This is one of my favourtie nude lipsticks. Because it is such an everyday wearable, my lips but better lipstick. The formula is so creamy so it glides on smoothly. Has a good staying power without drying out the lips. Only downside of this lipstick is that they have now discontinued the shade, however if your lucky you should be able to find it on ebay!

Australis Color inject lipstick
With an infused SPF 15 whats not to love about this lipstick in the summer!.
Is a smooth, creamy and light weight formula that is easy to apply, can be sheer however is a buildable coverage.
Leaves the lips feeling moisturized for hours.
I actually sometimes use this instead of a lip moisturizer/butter in the day.

Maybelline Colorsensational
Goes on so smoothly without leaving any residue. Is a creamy formula that is fairly moisturisering with a satin finish. As far as longetivity goes, they can last around 4-5 hours without eating or 1-3 hours if eating. The thing that I love the most about this product has nothing to do with the formula in the si=lightest, it is actually the vanilla smell of the lipstick.

L’oreal project runway lipstick
The texture of this lipstick is nice and creamy but stays in place. This lipstick glides on easily with even coverage after only one application. This also leaves my lips feeling smooth and soft and does not dry them out in the slightest. It does last well on the lips, lasting around 3-4 hours before needing to be touched up. So people believe that this product smells weirdly but I don’t find that in the slightest.
