Nivea Moisturisers Good and Bad

Hey everyone!
So this is just a little extra blog post, than my usual Wednesday posts!
So as Nivea is my first choice when it comes to lip balm, I thought I should also try out their selection of moisturisers. The two Nivea products that I picked up were Nivea Visage Young Control Shine and Nivea Visage Young Be Beautiful.

First of all I would like to say that I absolutely love the Nivea Visage Young Control Shine! It really does give your skin a matte finish, which sits perfectly under any foundation, I have even sometimes been using this instead of primer and it just keeps your makeup in place all day without any problem. Its a great moisturiser to use everyday as it does make your skin feel. It is definitely a great moisturiser if you are having a no makeup day as it just takes the shine off your skin, making it look and feel amazing.

I was very disappointed with the Nivea Visage Young Be Beautiful, when buying this I believed it would be some type of BB cream, however this is not the case. The best way I could describe this product is that it simply made my face feel dirty. It only slightly tints the colour of your face but I find that it give a orangey colour to the face. Not only this but if you were to itch or rub your face the product does come off onto your hand but comes off in little ball bit, so it looks like you are actually getting dirt off you face. I just really do not like this product and have actually been putting it on my legs instead in order to just get rid of it.

Also If you would like to see what I have purchased recently check out my haul video that I made 2 weeks ago!

Original Source Shower Gel

I would just like to start off with WOW!

I had heard many youtuber's rave on about this body scrub and had seen it many of time whilst browsing in the Body Scrubs section of supermarkets and such. But never really felt the urge to purchase it. However I finally gave in to all the wonderful reviews that it had been getting and purchased it. I really wanted to try out the orange citrus however I picked up the Lime scented one, as it was the only one my supermarket had in stock and it was only $2.99, what are bargain!

This product seriously smells beautiful, smelling exactly like a lime! Not only does this product smell great, but also it feels great on the skin. Whenever I use this I feel and smell great.... and usually end up spending ages bathing in it, as I just can't get enough of it! (The first time I used this I actually went round to all my family members telling me to smell me)

I am definitely now going to have to go out and purchase all the different scents from this brand just to see if they are all as amazing as this one!
I highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a great shower gel or even someone who wants a change from there usual shower gels as this is seriously amazing and are crazy if you don't try it!

5 Worst Drugstore Foundations

The biggest mistake that I found whilst growing up and going through high school was that many girls, made the mistake of not finding out and probably not even bothering to find out whether or not they had pink or yellow undertones. This led to many girls having the wrong colour foundation on their skin. Which in all honesty looked very unappealing and left their faces very cakey looking

1 - Maybelline New York SuperStay 24-Hour Makeup
The Basic reason behind why I believe this Foundation to be eligble to come under this title is that, it does not live up to it's claim to last 24 hours. Not only this but also the colour range for this product is not the best that it could be, the texture of this product is also very thick and leaves a rubbery kind of feel to it. Also a major problem with this product would be the fact that it colouring changes during the day, turning the skin to a dark orangey colour, that looks and feels unpleasant. The way in which you could get this to work would be to mix a tiny bit of it with a lighter shade of foundation with light coverage in order to get coverage and cover problem areas.

2- CoverGirl Clean Makeup
I have never tried CoverGirl before this, but as I was going to be doing a review on drugstore foundations, I picked this up. This foundation was a good match for my skin, yet it covered nothing, it basically looked like I had put nothing on my skin. I did have quite clean skin before using this foundation, however after using this product I found myself breaking out. It also doesn't last that long, so in order to keep it looking fresh it needs touching up throughout the day. The upside to this foundation would be that I found it easy to colour match my skin and that it was on sale when I purchased it so I only had to pay $5 for it.
 .

3- Maybelline New York Dream Nude Airfoam
This is by far one of the worst foundations I have ever tried from Maybelline. The packaging of this product isn't very good, as a lot of the foundation comes out with only one squirt. It also comes out so quickly that it made me jump when I first tried it. This foundation does not have good coverage at all, in order to get a good amount of coverage you must put a lot on. However if you try to put to much on at once, it does become quite runny. I also found with this foundation that it does feel quite stick. I would not recommend this product for those who either have blemishes on their skin or those who plan to work out whilst wearing foundation. The only thing that I can't complain about, is that I didn't have to pay the full retail price as it was on sale.

4- Almay Clear Complexion Liquid Makeup

This foundation does not last long on the skin without need touch ups throughout the day, especially on oily/combination skin. However even after retouching it does not look its best. The coverage of this foundation is okay I would say light to medium coverage, however if you apply to much it does get very cakey looking, which just looks and feels horrible. What also disappointed me was the lack in colour selection making it difficult with those that have lighter skin tone such as many are too yellow or dark.

5 - BYS Liquid Foundation

This product is horrible, I found that it felt very sticky on the skin and also made my face very itchy. This does not have a great coverage either and just has a nasty chemical smell to it. Basically with this product you are getting what you pay for, with a very limited colour range. Whilst this may be a good product for those who are just starting out with wearing makeup as it is more like a tinted moisturiser. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone, unless you want itchy, dry skin which will also make you break out. Definitely a no go zone.

So I hope these reviews can help you in any way to see what products may not suit what you are looking for and what to definitely not buy. Also let me know if you would like more of these kind of posts, where I go out and try a range of products and give you my feedback.

BYEEEE!! :)

Now the reviews on these foundations are purely of my own observations when using the products myself and my skin type, so you may have a different result to what I did.

Top Five Drugstore Foundations

Recently I have done a little research on foundations and have run around to try and find for you all the top 5 Drugstore foundations that I have found. As when I was younger and just getting into makeup I found it hard to find out which foundations were worth buying and ending up buying, every once in a while, a foundation that was absolutely horrible for my skin or just didn't last. So here are my top 5 Foundation choices for you all!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation -

Without a doubt this has got to be one of my favourite drugstore foundations, I have only been using this product for 3 weeks now but I absolutely love it. It has medium to light coverage and can be easily applied with a foundation brush (I use a BYS Foundation Brush) The finish of this foundation is gorgeous which leaves with a nice natural dewy sheen. I especially love that this foundation comes with a pump making it easy to apply the right amount to your brush/hand.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation -
This foundation has also been a real winner when it comes to drugstore foundations. It literally does wake you up and give your skin a nice finish, it has little speckles of shimmer in the foundation, however they are not at all noticeable, so it does not leave a matte finish. I find that it is very light on the skin and blends easily (meaning you can either use a brush or your hands and get the same effect). I love how this foundation comes with a pump making it easy to dispense and apply the right amount, meaning little is wasted.

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse -
During my high school years this was a very popular product amongst those who wore makeup, particularly in those the early stages of just beginning to wear foundation. This was actually the first foundation that I ever bought and used religiously. I actually continued to use this product for around two years, then I began to branch out to other brands and liquid foundations. It does have a very nice matte finish, but it does tend to wear after a few hours, yet is a very good product for those with oily skin.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation -
There is a lot of debate about this makeup on whether or not it is a good foundation. However when blended correctly it does have a nice long lasting finish and for my skin it was great. I wore this to my year 11 Debutante Ball and it lasted brilliantly throughout the whole night. It is great for dry or oily skin, giving your skin a nice and healthy look.

Revlon Photo-ready Airbrush Mousse -
I have purchased this foundation twice and have only just recently ran out and will definitely be repurchasing again when I get the chance. This foundation is easy to apply and blends well, it can even be applied with hands instead of a brush. The only downside to this is once spraying some out onto the hand it must be applied quickly as the mousse quickly will turn into liquid. The foundation has a long lasting finish and just like its name you are "Photo-ready" at any party with skin turning up beautifully in pictures.

Whilst trying out the many different drugstore foundations, I did stumble across some bad foundations, so I thought that I would also make a blog post on my 5 worst drugstore foundations, which will be up next week. Just so you can know what may not be the best foundation to buy.
